And it's from me so you can be sure it's spyware free. Google Toolbar Best Toolbar you will ever download. It comes with a free popup blocker that is amazingly well done. It blocks like 99% of all popups you can throw at it. It's farely cuztomizable and takes up very little room in your Internet Explorer. In my oppinion 75% of all the spyware I have been attacked by has been through the use of a popup ads. So many bombard you that you click random places to get out of it and accidently accept spyware on to your computer or the site you are viewing is legit but a popup from the site's advertiser has malicous code in it that attacks your computer. The best part, it's completely FREE! Lavasoft's Ad-Aware If you don't know much about computers but you do know you have a problem with either spyware or a virus, then this thing can probably help you. It does a pretty indepth scan of your computer's registry and some common file directories, but nothing too fancy. The good thing is it's free, i havn't figured out why it's free yet but i guess it doesn't really matter. This is usually a last resort for me when i can get the problem fixed with CWS Shredder. I wouldn't suggest trying to get this program from anywhere else online. There are alot of fake "ad-aware" programs out there that have spyware in them. The best part is that it takes up no system resources. No hidden processes, no browser plugins, nothing. It appears to be working, I went on a mad web search trying to get spyware after I installed this, at the end of the run I had nothing on my computer. It's free but the Auto-Update feature isn't. But how hard is it to open the program every once in a while to download an update. And if you're smart you could figure out Windows Task Scheduling and set it to remind you to update. It found a lot of stuff other Spyware tools didn't but nothing major, just a few registry keys and a DLL that I had never noticed before. Has many settings and things you can customize. Very quick search, I’m not sure if it's because it's not doing a good job or if it has very efficient coding. It did scan my cookies quite quick so I’m pretty sure it’s doing a good job. It appears to have some beef with Ad-Aware So if you like to use Ad-Aware and have installed this program you’re going to hear about it from Ad-Aware. It's free and pretty damn good.
